المملكة: 870 platforms to facilitate the completion of procedures for pilgrims at Jeddah Airport

Adopted Jeddah Airports Company‘s maximum operational plan for King Abdulaziz International Airportfor the Umrah season 1447 AH, by mobilizing 10,000 employees and equipping three halls, to ensure the smooth movement of pilgrims and provide a safe travel experience that reflects the efficiency of services.
The plan set the third of April 2026 as the final date for the arrival of pilgrims, while the eighteenth of the same month will be the last date for the departure of Umrah visa holders to secure flows of Guests of God smoothly and flexibly.
Activating operational capacity
Preparations are based on activating maximum operational capacity in Terminal One, the Northern Hall, and the Hajj and Umrah hall complex, to accommodate the expected million numbers during the holy month of Ramadan and until the end of the season.
407 stands were prepared to accept luggage and 463 stands were prepared to complete passport procedures to reduce field waiting time, which facilitates procedures and reduces the burden. On behalf of travelers directly and quickly.
The logistical system was supported by 56 moving bridges to transport passengers directly to aircraft, 35 luggage conveyor stations, and 81 advanced customs inspection devices to increase the efficiency of arrival and departure operations.
Integrated system
At the field level, more than 10,000 male and female employees from various governmental, security and operational sectors work around the clock, according to a system Integrated for the protection and safety of all operations at the airport.
The plan strengthened the humanitarian and health aspects by operating four specialized medical centers inside the airport, to provide immediate care to pilgrims and ensure their health safety throughout their stay.
Three organized welcome lounges were also allocated and 20 air-conditioned lounges were provided in the public area of the Hajj lounge complex, to ensure the comfort of the pilgrims and reduce the burden of travel for them.
Methodology Participatory
The CEO of Jeddah Airports Company, Engineer Mazen Johar, explained that the plan was implemented with a participatory methodology that included 27 governmental and operational agencies, to improve the services provided from the moment of the pilgrim’s arrival until his farewell.
He pointed to harnessing all capabilities to implement the highest quality standards, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in improving the experience of the guests of God and facilitating their journey of faith with ease and reassurance.
