Dubai Basketball wins over Asville Lyon in "EuroLeague"
Dubai, February 26 / WAM / The Dubai Basketball team achieved an important victory over French club Asville Lyon, 96-85, in the match that brought them together today at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, in the 29th round of the European Basketball League (EuroLeague).
The team imposed its control over the course of the match from the beginning, after ending the first half leading 47-36, with an 11-point difference, the same difference it maintained until the final whistle.
With this victory, he raised his tally to 15 victories in the major European competition, inflicting on the French team its twenty-second loss this season.
The match gained special importance because it was part of the club’s first community initiative during the holy month of Ramadan, “Basket for Basket,” which is based on donating a meal for every point the team scores in the match, in addition to allocating another meal for every ticket purchased, in support of families in need throughout the country, which was reflected in a large audience presence at the Coca-Cola Arena.
The initiative was held in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council and the Emirates Food Bank, in confirmation of the club’s commitment to creating a sustainable community impact that goes beyond the boundaries of sports competition.
