The Jordanian army announces the shooting down of two ballistic missiles targeting Jordanian territory

The Jordanian army announced in a statement on Saturday that its air defenses shot down two ballistic missiles targeting Jordanian territory.

The statement quoted an official military source in the General Command of the Armed Forces as saying that “today, Saturday, two ballistic missiles were shot down targeting Jordanian territory,” stressing that “they were successfully confronted by Jordanian air defense systems.”

The Jordanian army announced earlier on Saturday that its air force was carrying out air sorties to “protect the kingdom’s skies and preserve its sovereignty” after the US-Israeli attack on Iran.

The statement said, “The sounds that are heard in the skies of a number of regions of the Kingdom belong to aircraft belonging to the Royal Jordanian Air Force, which carry out regular air sorties,” stressing that its forces “continue to carry out their national duty in protecting the Kingdom’s skies and preserving its sovereignty with all efficiency and ability.”
