A leading delegation from Abu Dhabi visits the injured in Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City and confirms the integration of health preparedness in the emirate

ABU DHABI, 1st March / WAM / A leading delegation from Abu Dhabi visited those injured as a result of the current regional events, who are receiving medical care in Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, to check on their health condition and follow up on the level of treatment services provided to them.

The delegation included His Excellency Major General Ahmed Saif bin Zaitoun Al Muhairi, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, Head of the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Head of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Matar Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Center for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and His Excellency Dr. Rashid Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre.

During the visit, the delegation listened to a detailed explanation from the medical staff about the cases received, the approved treatment plans, and coordination mechanisms between health facilities and concerned authorities within an integrated response system that ensures speed of intervention and efficiency of care.

The delegation was briefed on the integration of medical and specialized teams, and the advanced clinical and technical capabilities to ensure that various cases are dealt with according to the highest professional standards.

The delegation confirmed that the health sector in the emirate is operating at its full operational capacity, supported by clear protocols for responding to emergency incidents and an effective coordination system between health, security and service agencies, which reflects the advanced level of preparedness and the ability to absorb cases and provide comprehensive care without affecting the continuity of regular health services.

His Excellency Major General Ahmed Saif bin Zaytoun Al Muhairi expressed his appreciation for the great efforts made by the medical and technical staff, noting that the visit comes within the framework of the keenness to direct field follow-up and enhance integration between the various components of the system and in line with the directives of the wise leadership calling for providing the utmost care, support and human protection in various circumstances.

He said: “The safety of individuals is a top priority in all our plans and procedures. We are proud of the high level of coordination between the concerned authorities, and the advanced preparedness of the health sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which has enabled immediate dealing with cases and the provision of the necessary care in accordance with the best international standards. We assure our brothers and sons who are infected that they receive full attention and care, and that their safety and recovery represent an absolute priority for all concerned authorities.”

He added: “We reassure the community that the health and security system in the emirate is working in complete harmony, and that basic services continue with high efficiency. We will continue close follow-up and continuous coordination to ensure the highest levels of protection and care for all members of society, while providing all necessary forms of support to the injured and their families during the treatment and recovery phase.”

For his part, His Excellency Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri said: “The health and safety of community members is at the top of the list of priorities, and the health care system is fully prepared and continues its constant coordination with various relevant partners to ensure the continuity of providing health care services at all times.”

He added: “The Unified Medical Operations Command Center worked with great efficiency and speed to provide the necessary medical care to those injured as a result of the current regional events. Through it, the nature of the injuries was immediately assessed, and ambulance teams were directed to the appropriate facility according to the nature of each case, in addition to prior coordination regarding the medical procedures that precede arrival to the hospital, all the way to receiving cases and completing health care services within the facility. Care plans for each injured person are currently being developed and followed up, and their health condition is closely monitored.”

He appreciated the efforts of health personnel and relevant partners, who play a pivotal role in supporting our efforts to maintain the health and safety of everyone.

The visit concluded by emphasizing the continued medical follow-up of cases, and strengthening the necessary support for the teams working in the field, to consolidate the emirate’s approach to providing a humanitarian and professional response that reflects its commitment to protecting society and preserving its safety in various circumstances.
