المملكة: The largest mosque in Central Asia hosts the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ program to break the fast for fasting people in Kazakhstan


Implemented Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, represented by the Religious Attaché at the Embassy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Republic of Kazakhstan, The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ program for distributing dates and breaking the fast for those who are fasting, at the Grand Republican Mosque in the capital, Astana, the largest mosque in Central Asia.

The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Kazakhstan, Mr. Faisal bin Hanif Al-Qahtani, His Eminence’s Deputy Mufti of Kazakhstan, Sheikh Kenjitay Baykimiluli, and the religious attaché, Mr. Talal bin Daifallah Al-Maliki, along with a number of officials and community notables.

A pioneering role

Ambassador Al-Qahtani confirmed, in a press statement, that these programs embody the pioneering humanitarian role of the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, praising the efforts of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs under the leadership of His Excellency the Minister Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al Sheikh and his continuous follow-up to the implementation of Ramadan programs around the world.

The Deputy Mufti expressed his thanks to the Kingdom for these blessed initiatives, praising It reflects the depth of the fraternal relations between the two countries, and its role in serving Muslims and enhancing mutual cooperation.

Annual tradition

The religious attaché explained that the program has become an annual tradition awaited by Muslims in Kazakhstan, because of the special symbolism it carries as it is a gift from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

During the ceremony, it was recalled during the ceremony the visit of His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs to the mosque in 2022 to participate in the Religious Leaders Conference, which resulted in the launch of The first international competition for memorizing the Holy Qur’an in Kazakhstan, with the participation of representatives from 21 countries, in an initiative that received wide appreciation within the country.

120 countries

It is noteworthy that the Ministry is implementing the date distribution program in 120 countries, and the Iftar program for fasting people in 70 countries during the month of Ramadan this year.

In Kazakhstan, (15) tons of dates were allocated to benefit About (60,000) beneficiaries in 17 regions and governorates, an increase of (5) tons over last year, while about (3,000) fasting people in the cities of Astana and Almaty benefit from the Iftar program.

These efforts come as an extension of the Kingdom’s mission to serve Islam and Muslims, and to strengthen bridges of brotherhood and communication with Islamic peoples around the world.
