Saudi Arabia.. intercepting and destroying 5 drones near Prince Sultan Air Base

The spokesman for the Ministry of Defense in Saudi Arabia, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, announced today the interception and destruction of 5 drones near Prince Sultan Air Base.

The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced earlier today, Monday, the interception of two drones that attempted to target the Ras Tanura refinery, confirming the success of the operation to confront the attack.

Al-Maliki explained that no civilian casualties were recorded as a result of the interception operation. He pointed out that a limited fire broke out inside the refinery due to falling fragments, which was quickly brought under control.

Al-Maliki added that the interception operation caused shrapnel to fall near civilian objects and civilians.

In addition, an official source in the Saudi Ministry of Energy stated that at 7:40 a.m. on Monday morning, the oil refinery in Ras Tanura was subjected to limited damage by falling shrapnel resulting from the interception of two drones in the vicinity of the refinery, which resulted in a limited fire that was dealt with immediately by emergency teams, and no injuries or deaths resulted.

The source added that some of the operational units in the refinery were stopped as a precaution, without affecting the supply of oil and its derivatives to the local markets.
