The Saud Bin Saqr Educational Charitable Foundation is implementing an international program to enhance the readiness of the first line of defense

Ras Al Khaimah, April 20 / WAM / The Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Educational Charitable Foundation, in cooperation with the Office of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, the Unified and Integrated National System for Preparedness and Response “Jaheziya”, and Civil Defense, and through the Foundation’s Disaster Medicine Center and the participation of the Ras Al Khaimah Academy for the Gifted, organized the basic training program for managing and supporting major incidents, internationally accredited by the European Center for Disaster Medicine, with the participation of 60 members from the first line of defense as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance Emergency response efficiency and developing the capabilities of national cadres.

Her Excellency Sumaya Abdullah bin Hareb Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, confirmed that the implementation of the program comes within the Foundation’s efforts to enhance preparedness and raise the efficiency of responding to accidents and emergencies, by applying the best international practices and adopting unified and internationally approved methodologies, which contributes to developing the capabilities of the cadres and enabling them to deal efficiently with various challenges.

For his part, Dr. Adel Al-Shammari, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, Chairman of the Emirates Doctors Initiative and CEO of the unified and integrated national system for preparedness and response “Jaheziya,” stressed that this program represents a qualitative step in enhancing integration between the various concerned parties, and building an advanced national system capable of responding effectively to major incidents and crises, noting that investing in training and qualifying the first line of defense is an essential pillar in achieving comprehensive preparedness and sustaining health and community security in the country.

Professor Roberto Megavero, head of the European Center for Disaster Medicine, confirmed that the Ras Al Khaimah Preparedness and Response Program succeeded in training and developing the skills of the first line of defense in the field of managing and supporting major incidents, emergencies and disasters, raising the readiness of the health sector and enhancing the response of first responders from medical and ambulance teams, civil defense and police according to a unified and internationally approved approach.

This program comes within the initiatives of the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Educational Charitable Foundation, which aims to develop national capabilities and enhance the readiness of cadres in the areas of emergency and crisis response.
