Abu Dhabi Corniche witnesses the longest Iftar banquet coinciding with… "Zayed Humanitarian Work Day"

ABU DHABI, 8 March / WAM / Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, along with a number of dignitaries in society and businessmen, attended the community initiative “Family Path – The Longest Group Family Iftar” organized by the Liwan Foundation for Culture and Heritage under the patronage of Sheikha Salama bint Tahnoon Al Nahyan – today on the Abu Dhabi Corniche, in major partnership with the Abu Dhabi City Municipality and in cooperation with Etihad Rail and the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation. Nahyan Humanitarian Works, Al Ain Special Group, and the Emirates Red Crescent Authority.

The organization of the initiative coincided with Zayed Humanitarian Work Day.

Abu Dhabi Corniche witnessed a distinctive social event in which the spirit of the Emirates was evident, as the Iftar table extended for a distance of more than 1,000 metres, and brought together more than 850 families of citizens and residents, including people of determination and senior citizens, while the number of attendees exceeded 6,000 participants who gathered around one table in a Ramadan atmosphere that embodied the values ​​of love, compassion and brotherhood among members of society.

The initiative witnessed wide participation from volunteer and community teams that embodied the highest meanings of giving and community service, including the Liwan Culture and Heritage Team, the Jabr Khater Team, the Emirates Red Crescent Team, the Emirates Volunteers Team, the We Are All Police Team, and the Thank You for Your Giving team.

The initiative received a remarkable media presence.

A number of entities, restaurants, and community initiatives participated in supporting the iftar banquet, which provided iftar meals to the participating families, including the Emirates Red Crescent, Khubza, Shearing is Caring, Khairat Restaurant, Daint Popular Food, Ahla Akla Restaurant, and local kebab, in addition to hospitality with Arabic coffee, which reflected the generosity of authentic Emirati hospitality, in an image that reflects the integration of efforts between the government and private sectors and civil society to serve the community.

The “Family Path” initiative embodies an inspiring model of community partnership and volunteer work in the UAE, and a humanitarian message that confirms that the values ​​of cohesion and solidarity instilled by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, are present in the conscience of Emirati society.
