China is silent about Trump discussing with Putin news of providing information to Iran

The Kremlin on Tuesday refused to comment on its discussions with the Americans regarding the alleged exchange of Russian intelligence information with Iran to support its strikes in the Middle East, information revealed by American media.

The American newspaper “The Washington Post” and the “Associated Press” agency accused Moscow of providing its ally, Iran, with information that would enable it to identify potential American targets to strike in the Middle East, in response to the American-Israeli attack.

When asked about the issue, President Donald Trump downplayed its importance, stressing that “even if they obtained information, it would not be of much use to them,” while Defense Secretary Pete Hegsett said that he was “not very concerned.”

For his part, the US President’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, confirmed to the press that he “firmly” asked Russia to stop providing Iran with this type of intelligence information, while Moscow never confirmed this.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in his daily press conference on Tuesday, “Witkov is in constant contact with his Russian interlocutors, and this communication channel actually allows the exchange of signals on the most sensitive topics,” and he was satisfied with this statement.

When asked whether this issue was raised on Monday evening during the phone conversation between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, he refused to answer.
