المملكة: "Municipalities" 278 thousand volunteer hours are implemented with the participation of 23 thousand volunteers during Ramadan
Revealed implemented more than 278,627 volunteer hours during the holy month of Ramadan, with the participation of more than 23 thousand male and female volunteers within the volunteer work initiatives in , which were implemented in various regions of the Kingdom in support of the sector’s work and services.
The voluntary initiatives included implementing more than 11,000 monitoring tours, removing more than 6,000 random posters from public facilities, in addition to improving more than 400 meters of roads and sidewalks, and contributing to improving parks and public facilities in a way that enhances and improves the quality of the urban environment in cities.
Awareness Programs
The initiatives also included implementing awareness and community programs that benefited more than 62,000 beneficiaries, focusing on enhancing the culture of preserving public facilities and consolidating civilized behavior, in addition to distributing more than 20,000 iftar meals during the holy month.
The Ministry explained that the initiatives also contributed to achieving a return from financial contributions exceeding 17,223,500 riyals, in an indicator that reflects the level of community interaction with volunteer initiatives and their role in supporting the efforts of the municipal and housing sector.
The Ministry confirmed that this volunteer effort embodies the integration of efforts between government agencies and society, and reflects growing awareness of the importance of volunteer work in supporting municipal services and enhancing the quality of life in cities.
