Opening of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit in "venerable for children" Supported by Muhammad Saleh Abdullah

DUBAI, March 19 / WAM / Dubai Health announced the opening of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Al Jalila Children’s Hospital, which was established with the generous support of Mr. Mohammed Saleh Abdullah, as part of the “Hope Fund” initiative of the Al Jalila Foundation, the giving arm of Dubai Health.

The opening was attended by His Excellency Dr. Amer Sharif, Executive Director of Dubai Health and Director of the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Abdullah Al Khayyat, Honorary Executive Director of Al Jalila Children’s Hospital, Dr. Amer Al Zarouni, Executive Director of Al Jalila Foundation, Dr. Tariq Fathi, Executive Director of Clinical Affairs at Dubai Health, and Dr. Mohammed Al Awadhi, Executive Director of the Women and Children’s Health Complex at Dubai Health.

The Pediatric Cardiology Department at Al Jalila Children’s Hospital performs about 200 surgical operations annually, in addition to more than 300 cardiac catheterization procedures, which enhances Dubai Health’s efforts in providing comprehensive and specialized care for various complex heart conditions in children.

Muhammad Saleh Abdullah, whose name was written on the hospital’s “Giving Wall” in appreciation of his giving and support in establishing the unit, said, “Our support for establishing the cardiac intensive care unit at Al Jalila Children’s Hospital comes from a firm conviction in the importance of individuals and institutions contributing to supporting the health sector, and participating in developing its facilities and services in a way that reflects positively on the lives of patients. Community partnerships represent a fundamental pillar in enabling the health system to expand its specialized services and provide the best levels of care, especially for children who Their health conditions require careful cardiac care.”

Dr. Amer Al Zarouni stressed that Al Jalila Foundation continues to work in cooperation with supporting partners to launch and implement specific programs and initiatives with a sustainable impact that contribute to supporting the health system, enhancing its specialized capabilities, and expanding the scope of advanced therapeutic care, which reflects positively on the health of patients and improves the quality of life of the individual and society.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Awadhi explained that the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Al Jalila Children’s Hospital provides an advanced level of care for cases that require close follow-up, under the supervision of specialized consultants and with the support of a multidisciplinary medical team, ensuring that critical cardiac cases are dealt with with high efficiency. He pointed out that the unit is equipped with ten beds that allow comprehensive care for children before and after cardiac procedures, which enhances the integration of medical services and contributes to achieving the best therapeutic results, and embodies Dubai Health’s commitment to the “Children First” era.

The Hope Fund is one of the qualitative initiatives launched by Al Jalila Foundation with the aim of supporting the development of Dubai Health facilities and enabling them to provide advanced medical services that meet the needs of the community, as donations from partners and supporters contribute to creating a sustainable impact that enhances the process of excellence in the health care sector in Dubai.
