The project included the implementation of integrated construction and engineering works to ensure the sustainability of water resources, meet the growing needs of the residents and visitors of Taybah al-Taybah, and enhance the operational capabilities of the water system in the region in general.

Operational efficiency

The project aims to stabilize water pressures and increase water flows to the neighborhoods of western Medina while linking the reservoir system south of Medina to the public network to serve visitors The Prophet’s MosqueThe Sharif, the shelter homes, the Miqat Mosque, and the surrounding area.

The technical works included extending transmission lines with a length of 10 kilometers to form a vital artery that feeds the new urban expansions, and ensures that the service is delivered with high efficiency to all targeted sectors in the region.

Expanding the scope of service

The project serves more than 137 thousand beneficiaries distributed over several neighborhoods and strategic areas, including Al-Aziziyah, Al-Qaswa, Urwa, Abu Bariqa, Al-Daitha, Hamra Al-Assad, and Al-Miqat neighborhood, in addition to the logistics areas such as the industrial area, Al-Hijra Road, Dhu Al-Hulaifa, and Juma Umm Khaled.

The project also covers the needs of the Al-Hasa’ and Abu Markha neighborhoods and shelter homes, which reflects the comprehensiveness in the expansion plan that the company is pursuing to cover all residential and industrial plans.

Strategic objectives

The company confirmed that this project contributes to raising the efficiency of water flows and ensuring Water sustainability in urban plans west of the city while improving the customer experience by stabilizing pressures and ensuring water access around the clock.

This step comes within the company’s efforts to modernize the water sector infrastructure in line with the Kingdom’s vision of improving the quality of services and meeting the requirements of rapid population growth in Medina.
