"Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure" regulates "Addis 2026"

ABU DHABI, 30th March / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Center is organizing the second edition of the “Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit – ADIS 2026” with projects exceeding $57 billion, during the period from 12 to 14 next May at the ADNEC Center Abu Dhabi, under the slogan “Urban development: a new vision for cities, and a new concept for our lives,” as part of its efforts to accelerate the transformation towards smarter and more sustainable cities that put people at the top of their priorities. The summit comes in an expanded version that reflects the growing global demand, with an intense focus on expanding the scope of projects, maximizing their impact, and raising the efficiency of implementation, in a way that enhances the transformation of urban plans into tangible results on the ground.

The summit witnesses the participation of an elite group of heads of government, CEOs of major international companies and institutions, as well as developers, investors and innovators from various vital sectors related to the global infrastructure system.

The summit will host a series of specialized sessions in cooperation with the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), to discuss dispute resolution mechanisms related to the approved framework for Abu Dhabi’s capital projects, in a way that enhances commitment to the highest standards of governance and transparency.

In its new session, the summit adopts a more comprehensive structure that keeps pace with the growing demand for implementable urban solutions, through an expanded agenda that focuses on the size of projects, maximizing their development impact, and raising the efficiency of implementation, supported by a portfolio of huge infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi worth more than $57 billion, including the sectors of housing, transportation, culture, education, and social facilities, which enhances the emirate’s position as a leading global model in urban development and transforming ambitions into measurable achievements.

Over the course of three days, the summit presents a program full of specialized events, including conferences, dialogue sessions, qualitative exhibitions, and platforms for building strategic partnerships, with a focus on four main axes: infrastructure based on achievement, quality of urban life, smart solutions, and sustainability and flexibility.

The discussions also address governance frameworks, digital infrastructure, sustainable housing, and advanced building technologies, which contributes to the transition from the dialogue stage to actual implementation and accelerating the pace of low-emission urban development.

His Excellency Muhammad Ali Al-Sharafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport – Abu Dhabi, stressed that the “Addis Summit 2026” is not limited to being a platform for reviewing plans and ambitions, but rather represents a practical embodiment of Abu Dhabi’s vision of building future cities that place quality of life at the heart of development, indicating that the emirate is moving at ambitious steps towards developing integrated and sustainable communities that rely on the latest concepts of urban planning and advanced transportation systems.

He added that the challenges facing contemporary cities require strengthening global cross-border partnerships, which Abu Dhabi is keen to do by sharing its pioneering experiences in governance and innovative implementation mechanisms, to ensure responsible urban growth that meets the aspirations of future generations.

For his part, His Excellency Engineer Maysarah Mahmoud Eid, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Center for Projects and Infrastructure, stressed that Abu Dhabi’s leadership in the infrastructure sector is based on high efficiency in implementation and precision in achievement, pointing out that the summit reflects the Center’s commitment to bringing together global partners and innovators to reimagine methods of city planning, financing and implementation, in addition to providing the opportunity for international competencies to contribute to the emirate’s ambitious project portfolio.

The summit is being held in light of the record growth witnessed by Abu Dhabi’s economy, with the gross domestic product reaching 325.7 billion dirhams in the third quarter of 2025, driven by the growth of the construction sector by 13.9% on an annual basis, at a time when global expectations indicate that 70% of the world’s population will move to live in cities by the year 2050, which reinforces the importance of the summit as a main platform to confront these transformations.

The summit witnesses wide international participation through pavilions dedicated to Singapore, China and Turkey, in continuation of the results of the promotional tours carried out by the Center in those markets during the year 2025, which resulted in the signing of 9 memorandums of understanding and the holding of more than 30 high-level bilateral meetings, opening the way for international partnerships and sustainable investment opportunities.

The annual performance report of the Abu Dhabi Center for Projects and Infrastructure revealed the successful completion of 100 capital projects during the year 2025, reflecting the accelerating momentum witnessed by the urban sector in the emirate and the remarkable progress in implementing projects on a large scale.
