Kalba player Caio Germano: I dream of representing the UAE national team

Kalba player, Brazilian Caio Germano, confirmed that he aspires to represent the UAE national team in the near future, describing living in the country as a great passion for him and his family, who feel very happy, which encourages him to make more efforts to achieve his football dream, hoping to contribute to the happiness of the Emirati football fans in the future, in light of the welcome and hospitality he found from the Kalba city family and the club’s fans.
Caio Germano is 22 years old and plays in midfield. He has played about 45 matches with Kalba since joining in 2023, and his contract was recently renewed to extend until 2029.
Germano told Emirates Today: “When I came to Kalba, I thought I had joined a club with limited ambition, and that it would not meet my aspirations, but with the passage of time I discovered that I was in a large and ambitious club, and this contributed to the development of my artistic level,” adding: “I now feel at home in Kalba, with a wonderful group of players,” stressing that his goal is to reach the highest artistic levels, in preparation for representing the UAE national team in the future.
Germano revealed his happiness to play under the supervision of Iraqi coach Ghazi Fahd Al-Shammari, who had previously worked with him, noting that he felt more motivated and excited to give his best after contracting with him during the last winter transfer period, especially with giving him more playing minutes. He added: “He told me in one of the training sessions that he would give me an opportunity to prove myself, and he asked me to make the best use of it, and I did so with passion, which made me enjoy the football that I was playing.”
Germano described the professional league as a very strong competitive league, contrary to what some people believe, stressing that any player can develop himself through it. He said: “If a friend asks me about choosing between the UAE League and any other distinguished league, I will tell him that the level is close, and there is no big difference,” noting that the UAE League helped him a lot to develop, especially mentally.
He added that this is not limited to him only, but also includes the U-23 league, which he described as strong and competitive, stressing that he benefited from it during the periods in which he did not participate sufficiently with the first team.
Germano revealed that he was able to get rid of great pressures in his life thanks to teamwork and good training, noting that he currently enjoys football, and is keen to achieve balance in his life by spending time with his family and friends, describing the city of Kalba as a beautiful city and an important part of his happiness.
Germano spoke about the great role that his family plays in his life, stressing that his wife represents an important part of his success. He said: “My wife is a true partner and friend, and she always supports me and stands by me,” adding: “She often organizes meetings with my agents and the administrative team, and she always motivates me to score goals and create opportunities.”
He continued: “Sometimes I am not convinced by her words at first, but I believe that a person who looks from the outside may see things more clearly,” noting that she gives him the stability he needs to focus on football.
