Ash rose a thousand meters.. Semeru volcano in Indonesia erupts 9 times in one day

The first eruption of the 3,676-meter-high volcano was recorded at 1207 yesterday morning, and it spewed an ash column as high as 700 meters, and the air moved it south, according to monitoring data.

An official at a monitoring center explained Lesoanto, said that the highest eruption of the volcano was at 0519 am, with the ash column reaching about 1,000 meters above the summit, adding that earthquakes associated with the eruption still dominate volcanic activity.
