3 levels of distance learning violations in private schools in Abu Dhabi: administrative, substantive, and critical

The Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi divided the violations that may be committed by private schools operating in the emirate during the implementation of the distance learning system into 3 levels, noting that the first level is for administrative violations: non-compliance with an administrative requirement for the first time or individually, without any direct harm to the students, such as failure to enter daily attendance data once or twice; Or not adhering to the school schedule for the first time; Or failure to deliver lesson plans on time, and the stipulated penalty is that the department direct a written notice to the distance learning official at the school, with a 48-hour period to correct the situation. The department stated in the new distance learning policy that the second level is for fundamental violations: repeated non-compliance after notification from the first level; Or non-compliance for the first time with a requirement that directly affects the well-being of students or the quality of learning, or a note from an inspection indicating the presence of ongoing negative educational provision, such as the continued absence of direct interaction during lessons, failure to conduct follow-up on student well-being, or repeated non-delivery of requirements after notification of the first level, or complaints from parents confirmed through inspection. The penalty stipulates sending an official warning letter from the Department of Education and Knowledge, and holding a mandatory meeting between the school principal within 5 working days. And a financial fine according to the fees schedule approved by the department, in addition to setting a date for re-inspection within 10 school days, and an official warning is issued within 3 school days from the date of making the decision.

She indicated that the third level is for critical violations: continued non-compliance after the second level warning, or the presence of evidence of data falsification, or an emergency situation related to the safety of students resulting from the school’s negligence, or a complete failure to provide direct education for 3 or more consecutive days without the approval of the Department of Education and Knowledge. Examples of these include: continuing to provide negative education after the official warning, escalating a situation related to the safety of students that could have been avoided if the school had adhered to its own procedures, or proven falsification of attendance data. The penalty stipulates the start of a review. Licensing, imposing the maximum financial fines, and the Department of Education and Knowledge undertakes administrative supervision of the school’s distance learning operations, and places the school’s classification under official review, with the result published, and the review begins within 5 school days from the date the decision was made.
