The Board of Trustees of Mohammed bin Zayed University for Human Sciences holds its first meeting with its new formation

ABU DHABI, 7 APRIL / WAM / The Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Human Sciences, with its new formation, held its first meeting at the university’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, headed by His Excellency Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei.
The Council began its meeting by extending the highest expressions of thanks and gratitude to the wise leadership of the state, for the continuous support and firm interest in developing the education system, and enabling academic institutions to perform their role in building humanity and creating a sustainable future.
In his welcoming speech to the members of the Council, His Excellency Dr. Omar Habtoor Al-Darai stressed that the university is moving from an accumulated balance of achievements towards more influential horizons, thus enhancing its position as a global center in the humanities and Islamic studies.
He praised the support it enjoys from the wise leadership, calling for continued work to consolidate its academic leadership and enhance its scientific and societal impact, in light of the human values on which its mission is based, especially since the university is an intellectual reference for promoting the values of tolerance and coexistence, combating extremist ideas, and fortifying intellectual security.
During the meeting, the Council reviewed the new strategic plan 2026-2030, the achievements achieved by the university, developments in academic accreditations, and updated policies. It also reviewed the procedures and measures taken to ensure the continuity of the educational process in light of the current circumstances, and directed to continue developing the educational and research environment, and to enhance the integration of academic programs with the needs of society.
The Council praised the university’s efforts in consolidating the humanities and Islamic studies, and their impact in enhancing its academic and intellectual leadership, which embodies its mission that goes beyond education to create human awareness, and prepare competencies capable of contributing to building more cohesive societies, by consolidating the values of coexistence and understanding, and promoting civilized dialogue between cultures.
