Ten people were arrested following the attack on the Israeli consulate in Istanbul

The Turkish authorities arrested ten people pending investigation, on Wednesday, in connection with the attack that targeted the vicinity of the Israeli consulate in Istanbul, according to what was reported by the official Anatolia Agency.

The agency stated, citing informed sources, that the number of those arrested had risen to ten, including the two perpetrators of the attack who are still receiving treatment in the hospital, and will be presented to the police after they recover.

One of the three attackers was killed. During the incident, while media reports indicated his connection to an extremist organization, while the Turkish Ministry of the Interior merely indicated his connection to…"A terrorist organization that exploits religion"

The connection of the accused to drug smuggling

It was also stated that the injured attackers are brothers and have a connection to drug smuggling, while investigations continue under the supervision of three public prosecutors commissioned by the Ministry of Justice.

The shooting occurred on Tuesday in a commercial area in Istanbul, where the attackers arrived in a rented car and opened fire, wounding two police officers while confronting them.
