Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Engineer Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushaiti, confirmed the stability of supply chains in the The poultry sector in the Kingdom has achieved qualitative leaps and record numbers in production quantities, which are expected to exceed 1.5 million tons, and has achieved self-sufficiency at a rate exceeding 76%, which contributes to enhancing food security and supporting the national economy, in accordance with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
This came during his chairmanship of the joint meeting held at the Ministry’s headquarters, to review the stock position and expected production of the poultry sector during the coming period, including the Hajj season, with the participation of The Public Authority for Food Security, the National Committee for Poultry Producers, and the National Committee for Feed Manufacturers of the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce.
Abundance of Poultry Products
The Deputy Minister explained that the outcomes of the meeting and its discussions reassured the position of the production of poultry meat and its products, in a way that meets the increasing demand for it, and ensures its quality and stable prices for consumers, especially during the Hajj season, when consumption rates of poultry meat and its products double, which increases the efforts of the Ministry and the authorities. related matters, to increase production and provide poultry products to consumers.
The Ministry’s plans and the establishment of a number of model poultry projects in many regions contributed to achieving an abundance of fresh poultry products, including meat and table eggs, and stabilizing their prices in retail and central markets.
The initiatives and programs it launched to support local feed producers also contributed to increasing local investments in the poultry feed sector, which contributed to its abundance and enhanced production in the poultry sector.
/>The meeting reviewed the production and stock quantities of broiler chickens in the first quarter of 2026, including what is produced by the ten companies that represent 85% of local production, while the monthly production of broiler chickens in March amounted to 125,470 tons, and the monthly stock for the same month amounted to about 16,278 tons.
He explained that the production of large-weight chickens – those weighing more than 1,500 grams – is approximately 77 tons. One thousand tons, noting that there are four companies that began actual production of large weights at the beginning of this month, which will contribute to their availability at all points of sale and retail markets, while the daily production of table eggs was estimated at more than 24 million eggs, including more than 10 million eggs for the 10 largest producers, with stock quantities exceeding 26.6 million eggs during the month of last March, equivalent to about 74 thousand cartons.
