Fujairah consolidates its geological position with 3 mining areas and unique rock diversity
Fujairah, 8 April / WAM / The Emirate of Fujairah is distinguished by its unique geological diversity, as it contains rich rock formations that reflect an ancient natural history, and highlights mountainous areas of scientific and mining importance, among them the Kassar region, which is a clear example of the multiplicity of layers and rock structures, including plate rocks and formations associated with shale zones.
The mining areas in the emirate are divided into three main zones, led by the first zone, which includes Fujairah, Al Hail and neighboring areas, which is characterized by the availability of diverse raw materials that have made it an important hub for mining activities in the country.
Fujairah contains multiple types of rocks, including sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rocks. Igneous rocks are of special importance due to their rarity and unique composition, as they represent exposed parts of the earth’s crust, which is a rare geological phenomenon in the world.
These characteristics reflect the position of the Emirate of Fujairah as one of the most prominent geological regions in the region, due to the natural environment it provides, rich in resources, in addition to its scientific value, which attracts researchers and those interested in studying the Earth’s formations and its geological history.
