Abdullah bin Zayed discusses, during phone calls with a number of foreign ministers, regional developments

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during telephone calls with a number of foreign ministers of brotherly and friendly countries, discussed regional developments in the wake of the brutal Iranian missile and terrorist attacks that targeted the UAE and a number of brotherly and friendly countries.

His Highness held telephone discussions with His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ayman Al-Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and Fernando Aramayo, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Plurinational State of Bolivia.

His Highness reviewed with the ministers the latest developments in the situation in the region, following the announcement by Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, of a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

During the telephone discussions, His Highness stressed the importance of ensuring Iran’s full commitment to immediately stop any hostilities in the region, fully and unconditionally reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and stop threats targeting freedom of navigation, international trade movement, security of energy supplies, and the global economy.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the ministers for their countries’ solidarity with the UAE, stressing the safety of all residents and visitors in the country.

The phone calls discussed the importance of uniting the efforts of the international community to achieve sustainable peace for all countries of the region, for the benefit of their peoples and contributing to enhancing regional security and stability.
