Mohamed Salah is a “reserve”… Liverpool’s coach justifies his decision!

Liverpool’s English coach, Ernie Sloat, justified keeping the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah as a reserve in the Reds’ important match against Paris Saint-Germain, on Wednesday, in the first leg of the Champions League, which ended 2-0 in favor of the French team, which was favored to exit with a big result had it not been for wasting many of the opportunities achieved before the return match at Anfield next Tuesday.
Sloat responded to the most prominent question during the press conference after the match about not playing Mohamed Salah, saying: “We wanted to defend. The quality of these matches does not suit him. Therefore, it was better to keep him for the upcoming matches.”
Slott explained: “(Mo) has great quality, but for him to spend 20 to 25 minutes defending inside his penalty area, I think it is better for him to save his energy for other matches.”
For his part, Mohamed Salah expressed his annoyance at sitting on the bench throughout the match, and he even refused to conduct an interview with his former teammate, the legend Steven Gerrard, during an analysis segment of the events of the match while he was leaving the field, contenting himself with only shaking his hand.
It is noteworthy that Liverpool is going through a difficult stage in the current season, as it occupies fifth place in the English Premier League standings and is threatened with losing it and not participating in the Champions League next season.
