Abdullah bin Zayed receives Kaya Kallas and they discuss the UAE-European strategic relations and regional developments

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Kaya Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and Vice-President of the European Commission.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation relations between the UAE, the European Union and its member states, and to consolidate joint work in a way that contributes to the development of a fruitful and positive Emirati-European strategic partnership that serves the strategic priorities of both sides.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Kaya Kalas’s visit, stressing the growing and developing relations between the UAE and the European Union and its member states.

The two sides discussed the situation in the region, and the repercussions of the brutal Iranian missile attacks that targeted the UAE and a number of brotherly and friendly countries.

His Highness expressed his thanks to Kaya Kallas for her complete solidarity with the UAE, stressing the safety of all residents and visitors in the country.

His Highness and Kaya Kallas reviewed regional developments, following the announcement by United States President Donald Trump of a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the importance of enhancing international cooperation and concerted regional and international efforts to achieve sustainable peace in the region.

The meeting was attended by Minister of State Saeed Mubarak Al Hajri, and the UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the European Union, Mohammed Al Sahlawi.
