Fujairah, April 10 / WAM / The third round of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship for the “Without Suit” category begins tomorrow in the Emirate of Fujairah, in a new station that reflects the continuing momentum witnessed by the tournament, and confirms the UAE’s global leadership in this sport, thanks to the great support of the wise leadership, and the adoption of the best international programs to spread and develop the game, discover talents and create champions.
This tour comes as an extension of the UAE’s journey of excellence in the sport of jiu-jitsu, through an integrated system that combines strategic planning and professional organization of local and international tournaments, thus enhancing the country’s position as a global center for this sport, and contributing to expanding the base of practitioners and consolidating the culture of sports in society.
The third round gains special importance in the course of the season, as it constitutes a vital platform for testing the technical and physical readiness of the players, in light of the nature of the fights that depend on fast pace and instantaneous interaction, which enhances the value of tactical discipline and the ability to read the course of the fight accurately, and contributes to refining the players’ skills and raising their technical levels.
The competition in this round is not limited to winning medals. Rather, the battlefields turn into a space where will is tested before skill, where various artistic abilities emerge apart from the influence of the use of the suit, and the essence of the game based on balance between mind and body appears, in a scene that embodies the philosophy of jiu-jitsu as a sport that builds a person before it creates a champion.
Abdullah Salem Al Zaabi, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications at the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, said: We notice a continuous expansion in the scope of participation in the tournament, which is a clear indication of the success of the efforts made to spread the game and attract wider segments of players. This diversity enhances the quality of competition, and gives talents a real opportunity to prove their presence and develop within a professional environment.
For his part, Thiab Al Nuaimi, Al Ain Club player in the adult category, 62 kg, brown/black belt, said: The competition in this round has a special character, because the fights in the without suit category depend greatly on the speed of reaction and accuracy of decision-making inside the mat, which forces the player to maintain high concentration throughout the fight, and preparations were intense for this type of challenge, because any simple mistake could change the course of the fight. At the same time, the tournament in general represents an important platform for us as players to evaluate our true level, and to interact with… Competitors from different schools, and this directly contributes to developing performance and gaining new experiences.
The tournament continues to consolidate its presence as one of the most prominent competitive platforms on the local jiu-jitsu agenda, through the stimulating environment it provides that combines competition and development, and contributes to preparing a new generation of players capable of representing the country efficiently and competently in various regional and international forums, reflecting the UAE’s position and its global leadership in the sport of jiu-jitsu.
