The UAE participates in the 2026 Asian Judo Championship in China with 12 male and female athletes

BEIJING, 12 APRIL/WAM / Our national judo team will open its participation in the 2026 Asian Senior Judo Championship, scheduled in China from April 16 to 18, with lightweight competitions for men under 60 and 66 kg, and women under 52 kg.
The Judo Federation announced in a statement the arrival of the first national team delegation to China tomorrow from Japan, after the conclusion of the preparation camp hosted by the Japanese Tokai University in the capital, Tokyo.
He stressed the importance of the tournament organized by the Chinese Federation, under the supervision of the International Federation, in the sports hall of the city of Ordos in northern China, with the participation of 207 male and female players from 21 countries, including the teams of 4 Arab countries: the Emirates, Bahrain, Syria and Lebanon.
He noted that the mission is headed by Dr. Nasser Al-Tamimi, member of the National Olympic Committee and Vice President of the Federation, and includes general coach Viktor Syktrov and his assistant staff.
The final participating list, consisting of 12 male and female players in different weights, was revealed: Simon Constantine (under 60 kg), Nar Mend Bayan, (under 66 kg), Naji Yazbek, and Muhammad Bey, (under 73 kg), Talal Shavili and Omar Gad, (under 81 kg), Aram Gorjian, (under 90 kg), Dhofar Kosouf, (under 100 kg), and Omar Marouf, (over 100). kg), Bashirat Kharudi (under 52 kg), Maitha Abdullah Al-Neyadi (under 57 kg) and Eliza Letev (under 78 kg).
His Excellency Mohammed bin Thaloub Al-Darai, President of the Federation, said that the tournament activities will begin with the draw ceremony next Wednesday after gradual stages of preparations in Japan, especially since participating for the first time in the Senior Asian Championship is of special importance, as it represents an ideal opportunity for the team to collect more qualifying points for the 2028 Olympics, in addition to being an important station within the annual preparation program.
