Nahyan bin Mubarak attends Easter celebrations at the Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church in Abu Dhabi
ABU DHABI, 12 APRIL / WAM / His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, attended the glorious Easter celebrations held at St. Anthony’s Cathedral of the Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of His Excellency Essam Ashour, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the country, and a number of church patrons, in addition to a wide presence of members of the Egyptian community and diplomatic and community figures.
His Excellency’s presence on this occasion comes within the framework of the United Arab Emirates’ keenness to have various religious communities participate in its celebrations and events, reflecting its unique civilizational model in establishing coexistence and tolerance, and promoting human understanding between peoples.
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan said in his opening speech for this ceremony: “I am pleased to be with you tonight, in your celebration of the glorious Resurrection Day, which represents, for you, a renewed occasion in which, God willing, you will achieve serenity of soul, joy of the heart, and the joy of believing in the greatness of the Creator, and surrendering to His power and will. I extend to you all, my best wishes, for a happy holiday, praying to God.” Glory be to Him, may God Almighty grant that these holidays will always be a source of harmony and love among people, and an opportunity to celebrate all that is true, good, and mercy for human beings everywhere.”
His Excellency added that our presence together tonight, brothers and sisters, in this Coptic church, here in Abu Dhabi, is an embodiment of a bright side in the path of the dear UAE, which is the coexistence, communication, and human brotherhood that the country enjoys, thanks to God, that brings together all residents, across their differences of nationalities and religions, in a strong cohesion that pushes for successful work, in order to achieve all the nation’s goals. And his ambitions – we, praise be to God, are a state that cherishes the Islamic teachings of sublime tolerance and mutual respect between followers of religions and beliefs, a state that always, with all force, emphasizes human dignity and strengthens feelings of brotherhood among human beings, leading, God willing, to achieving goodness, peace, cooperation and love throughout the nation and the world.
His Excellency said: “I am completely certain that, in your prayers tonight, you will pray with us for continued security, safety and stability in this dear country. You will pray with us that God preserves the Emirates so that it will always be a state of pride, glory and steadfastness in the face of all aggression. You will pray with us that the Emirates remains, under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him.” The Center prestigious, for human communication, and cultural radiance, for the benefit of all – I am fully confident that you will pray with us tonight, that God grants success to our beloved president, and that the Emirates will always be, thanks to his wise leadership and wise vision, a safe and reassuring country… a country capable of achieving and giving with all confidence, and that has a prominent position, among the countries of the entire world, within the framework of the strong commitment, for its citizens and residents to be They are both good members of society, inhabiting the land, rejecting aggression and hatred, and embodying, through their joint work, the spirit of this strong country, which faces all challenges with wisdom and determination, confidence and steadfastness, and steadfastness in authentic values and principles.
His Excellency added that our presence together tonight is also an expression of the distinguished fraternal relations between Egypt and the Emirates. I take this occasion to stress, first, our pride in you, the Egyptian brothers who reside with us, and our great appreciation for your constructive role in this beloved country. As is my custom every year, I address, through you, my sincere greetings to the great people of Egypt and to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah. Al-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, praying to God, the Almighty, to grant Egypt success under his leadership, and to make it always a country of peace, progress, and development, and to continually be a leading country by all standards, thanks to its glorious history, its renewed civilization, its faithful people, and its confident outlook toward the future.
His Excellency said: “I also take this opportunity to express my great appreciation for the Coptic Church and its inherent role in the lives of its members. I express my deep appreciation for His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria, Patriarch of the Coptic Orthodox Church, thanking His Holiness for his noble humanitarian and patriotic stances, and wishing him continued success and success.”
He expressed his appreciation for the Cathedral of Anba Anthony in Abu Dhabi and his thanks to its people and those who care for it, for their important role, in embodying what our dear country seeks, which is to instill the values of tolerance, coexistence and brotherhood among all.
His Excellency said: “Once again, I extend to all of you, brothers and sisters, my greetings and congratulations on the glorious Eid, and I pray to God Almighty to bring it back to you, in health and happiness, and to always grant you success on the path of love, mercy, and forgiveness, and a happy and prosperous year to all of you.”
