Abu Dhabi Museums… cultural beacons linking education with art

Abu Dhabi, April 19 / WAM / Abu Dhabi Museums have established their position as leading cultural beacons that contribute to linking education with art, through innovative initiatives and programs that enhance the presence of culture in the educational system, and enrich the students’ learning experience with modern interactive methods.
During 2025, the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum received more than 67,000 students, both male and female, who actively participated in a wide range of programs and activities designed specifically for schools, universities, and centers for people of determination, in addition to families and various segments of society.
These programs and activities provided various educational experiences, including thematic guided tours, creative meetings inside the museum’s halls and exhibitions, in addition to designated school visits on Mondays, where one school completely takes over the museum to live an immersive educational experience.
The programs included initiatives including Creative Interpreters, the Museum Program for Universities, and seasonal camps, in addition to specialized community events such as Haq Al-Laila, World Autism Awareness Day, and People of Determination initiatives.
Based on this momentum, during the year 2026, the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi will continue its commitment to students, families and the broader community, by providing high-quality educational and cultural experiences with a sustainable impact. The museum will also extend its family weekend programs until the end of the year in celebration of the Year of the Family in the UAE, in addition to expanding the range of seasonal programs, such as summer and winter camps, giving children rich opportunities to discover the museum’s art collection and enjoy its unique cultural atmosphere.
Last March, the museum launched the “Museum Platform for Educational Curricula” initiative, as one of the most prominent models that combine art and education in an integrated framework, as it aims to link art collections to the national curriculum, and provide interactive educational content that supports teachers and students inside and outside the classroom.
The initiative falls within the efforts of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, which aims to align educational curricula with cultural content, by developing educational programs that invest in artistic and heritage collections in consolidating national identity and enhancing students’ connection to their history and culture.
The development of the platform was based on a comprehensive survey of the national curriculum, where more than 148 works of art and artifacts were linked, including 113 from the museum’s permanent collection and 35 pieces loaned from local and international partners, with plans to increase this number in the future.
The platform was approved by the Ministry of Education as an educational resource compatible with the curriculum, which reflects its importance as a comprehensive educational tool that supports various disciplines, including science and mathematics, in addition to humanities subjects.
The Abu Dhabi Natural History Museum plays a pivotal role in supporting scientific education, through the Research and Education Institute, which contributes to preparing a generation of those interested in the environment and nature, and promoting scientific research and innovation in the fields of sustainability and technology.
The Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi stands out as an advanced model in using science to serve education, as it offers interactive educational programs designed specifically for students, focusing on topics such as biodiversity, earth history, and sustainability.
The museum also relies on discovery-based learning methods, through applied workshops and scientific experiments that allow visitors to interact directly with scientific content, in addition to using modern technologies such as virtual reality to enhance the learning experience.
Zayed National Museum offers a group of interactive educational programs that allow students and teachers to explore the history and culture of the UAE through museum tours, practical workshops and interactive displays, which contribute to transforming learning into a live and enjoyable experience.
The programs include specific initiatives such as “Baba Zayed,” which introduces students to authentic Emirati values, the “Revealing the Secrets of History” program, which enhances understanding of national identity, in addition to the “Little Explorer,” which connects students with the environment and nature through innovative interactive activities.
The museum provides educational programs based on storytelling and guided tours, in addition to interactive workshops that highlight Emirati heritage and traditional crafts, thus enhancing students’ connection to their cultural heritage, in addition to inclusive programs for people of determination, and digital content that allows distance learning, which reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to promoting the concept of lifelong learning.
