Workers’ compensation jumps by 9.8% in Saudi Arabia during February 2026

Official data showed an increase in the index of workers’ compensation in Employers’ compensation, supported by an increase in manufacturing activities by 9.9%, and construction activities that rose by 7.6%.

The increase was also supported by an increase in wholesale and retail trade activities and vehicle repair by 10.3%, and an increase in mining, quarrying, financial, and insurance activities by 1.1% and 14%, respectively.

With regard to the monthly performance of the index index For workers’ compensation, the performance of the index increased by 0.7%, supported by an increase in manufacturing activities by 1.9%, construction activities that rose by 0.6%, and an increase in wholesale and retail trade activities and vehicle repair by 1.2%, as well as an increase in mining and quarrying activities, financial activities, and insurance activities by 0.4% and 1.1%, respectively.

And On a monthly basis, the operating income index index recorded an increase of 0.3%, supported by an increase in manufacturing activities by 0.4%, mining and quarrying activities that increased by 0.8%, an increase in wholesale and retail trade and vehicle repair activities by 0.6%, and an increase in both construction activities, financial activities, and insurance activities by 0.5% and 1.4%, respectively.

Decrease in building permits

And during the month of February 2026 AD, The number of building permits issued decreased by 18.8% compared to the same month of the previous year, and their number decreased from (7,290) permits in February 2025 to (5,920) permits last February.

Compared to January 2026, it is noted that the number of building permits issued decreased from (6,919) permits to (5,920) permits, with a monthly decrease rate of 14.4%.
