المملكة: Schools Formula: "today" It documents students’ creativity in shaping the future of engineering and industry in the Kingdom

Al-Youm monitored the launch of the Saudi STEM Race, organized by the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture «Ithra”, with broad participation of general education students to design and manufacture miniature Formula cars that simulate global industrial and professional environments.
The participants revealed to “Al-Youm” that these technical experiments enhance the knowledge crop and hone the skills of detecting and treating errors, thus contributing to the transformation of Personal passion leads to promising career paths.
Implementing racing cars with the latest technologies
The student explained "Rial Al-Ghamdi"From the third intermediate grade in Jeddah, her team is working on implementing a miniature racing car using advanced technologies that include computer sculpting and 3D printing.
She confirmed "Rial Al-Ghamdi" That cars are subject to Strict performance tests on tracks 15 meters long, with a speed of less than one second, which requires extreme engineering precision.
The student pointed out that the program allowed her to discover her passion for mechanical engineering and apply it on the ground, stressing that such initiatives embody the Kingdom’s interest in empowering young talent.
For her part, the student said "Shahad Hafez"From the second year of secondary school, the design was initially inspired by the shape of the falcon as the fastest living creature, before it was modified according to “aerodynamics” standards.
She showed "Shahad Hafez" The fundamental difference between their cars and real models lies in the nature of the straight track, which imposes design considerations aimed at increasing the efficiency of aerodynamics and applied physics.
Marketing alongside engineering design
In a related context, the student stressed "Lina Al-Amir"a member of the “Reson” team in the Marketing Department, said that participation developed her skills in communication, problem solving, and managing the team’s visual identity.
She noted "Lina Al-Amir" The role of marketing is no less important than the engineering side, as it includes attracting sponsors and building the media brand, which strengthened its confidence in communicating with supporting parties.
In turn, the arbitrator of the engineering and design track, Dr. Hamza Maqsoud, confirmed that the competition is based on forming student teams that build Formula cars according to engineering principles and accurate simulation tools.
Dr. Hamza Maqsoud added that the program trains students to manage projects and search for financiers, which provides an integrated experience that simulates the real work environment in Industrial sectors.
The arbitrator pointed out that the competitions pass through regional stages that include Al-Ahsa, Dhahran, Riyadh, Medina, and Jeddah, leading to the national stage and then the global finals in Singapore.
For his part, the trainer specialized in project management, Ahmed Al-Atrash, stated that this path focuses on the financial and organizational aspects, which enhances the spirit of responsibility and integration among the members of one team.
Ahmed Al-Atrash concluded by noting that the program paves the way for entering the labor market. Early, as some participants actually obtained training opportunities and engaged in real and fruitful professional projects.
The program is an advanced educational platform that allows students to undergo an integrated experience in six main centers, aiming to hone innovation and teamwork skills in advanced technical fields.
