The Ministry explained that updating the sanctions schedule for comes within an integrated regulatory framework that aims to unify procedures, and enhance transparency and clarity in the application of penalties, as it determines treatment paths and procedures according to precise standards that take into account the nature of the violation, its impact, and the extent of its recurrence, in addition to the classification of secretariats and municipalities, and the size of establishments, in a way that ensures fair application and raises the efficiency of compliance in the various activities subject to municipal supervision.
Penalties for municipal violations
It indicated that the approved schedule includes clear mechanisms for addressing violations, which begin – In a number of non-serious cases by warning – followed by granting a corrective period before applying the penalty, according to the type of violation and the nature of its impact, as the correction periods vary according to the observed situation, allowing establishments and individuals to complete compliance requirements and address observations before completing the regulatory procedures.
The Ministry stated that the regulation distinguished between serious and non-serious violations in the treatment mechanism, as penalties are applied directly to violations that have an impact related to safety, public health, or Which require urgent intervention, while remediable violations are given a corrective period before completing the regular procedure, with the gradual application of penalties when the violation is repeated, in accordance with the regulating provisions.

It stressed that this update comes as an extension of its ongoing efforts to develop the municipal control system, by adopting regulatory paths that focus on early treatment, raising the level of compliance, and enhancing awareness of municipal requirements, which contributes to reducing remedial violations.
