The UAE University is ranked first in the country and 55th Asian in the Times Asian University Rankings 2026

Al Ain, April 25 / WAM / The United Arab Emirates University has achieved a new academic achievement by topping the universities in the United Arab Emirates, and being ranked third in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and 55th in the level of universities in Asia, according to the Times World Classification of Asian Universities for the year 2026 (THE Asia University Rankings 2026), which reflects its leading position as a national institution that contributes to shaping the future of higher education, scientific research and innovation.

His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, Supreme President of the United Arab Emirates University, stressed that this achievement embodies the solid path that the university has followed since its founding, as the first comprehensive national university in the country, and its continuing mission in building people and creating knowledge.

His Excellency said that the fact that the UAE University topped the list of universities nationwide, and its ranking among the best Asian universities, reflects its deep commitment to its academic and national mission, and its keenness to establish a culture of excellence, innovation and scientific research, in line with the vision of the wise leadership in investing in people and knowledge.

He added: “As we celebrate the university’s golden jubilee this year, we recall a long legacy of achievements, and we look forward to a more influential and pioneering future, in which the UAE University continues its role as a scientific and intellectual beacon, and an active partner in the process of national development and the cultural contribution of the UAE at the global level.”

For his part, His Excellency Professor Dr. Ahmed Ali Al-Raisi, Director of the United Arab Emirates University, said that this achievement embodies the integrated institutional work that the university is pursuing in developing its academic and research system, and enhancing the quality of education and scientific research in accordance with the highest international standards, thus consolidating its position as a leading research university at the regional and international levels, and contributing to the preparation of national competencies capable of leading the future and supporting the knowledge economy and sustainable development in the country.

This classification confirms the United Arab Emirates University’s continued commitment to providing academic and research education at international standards, enhancing the innovation system, and supporting an integrated educational environment that contributes to preparing national cadres capable of competing regionally and internationally, in addition to its active role in serving the community and achieving the goals of sustainable development and the future vision of the UAE.

The Times World Ranking of Asian Universities is based on 18 precise performance indicators, designed to provide comprehensive and balanced comparisons between universities, and is trusted by students, academics, university leaders, industry sectors and governments around the world. These indicators are classified into five main areas, including: education (the learning environment), the scientific research environment (the number of research papers, productivity, and academic reputation), the quality of scientific research (the influence of citations, the strength of research, research excellence, and scientific impact), international openness (faculty members, students, and international research cooperation), in addition to industry (patents).

This progress reflects the integrated institutional performance of the United Arab Emirates University and its ability to achieve a balance between the quality of education and scientific research, societal impact and global openness, thus enhancing its position among the leading universities regionally and internationally.
