Aoun: I will not accept a humiliation agreement with Israel, and treason is committed by those who drag Lebanon into war
The Lebanese President confirmed Joseph AounMonday, the goal of direct negotiations with Israelis to end the war, considering that whoever dragged the country into it is the one committing it "Betrayal"implicitly referring to Hezbollah, which described direct negotiations as"sin"
While receiving a delegation from the Hasbaya region in southern Lebanon, Aoun said, according to the presidency: "My goal is to reach an end to the state of war with Israel, similar to the armistice agreement" Which the two countries signed in 1949, asking "Was the armistice agreement a humiliation? I assure you that I will not accept this agreement"
Aoun explained his response to Hezbollah’s accusations without naming it "Whoever dragged us into the war in Lebanon is holding us accountable today because we made the decision to go to negotiations under the pretext of the lack of a national consensus. My question to them is: When you went to war, did you obtain the national consensus first?".
He added "What we are doing is not treason, but rather treason is committed by those who take their country to war to achieve foreign interests".
