“Arbitral unfairness” prevented Hatta from winning against Al-Orouba… and we demand justice

The Hatta Club management expressed its strong dissatisfaction with the refereeing performance that accompanied the team’s confrontation with Al-Orouba (1-1), the day before yesterday in the postponed match of the 25th round of the First Division League, stressing that “wrong discretionary decisions” directly affected the outcome of the match and deprived “The Hurricane” of valuable points in the struggle to qualify for the professional level.

In exclusive statements to Emirates Today, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hatta Club, Saeed Juma Al Kaabi, directed a clear rebuke to the Referees Committee of the Football Association, saying: “We feel very frustrated by the unfairness to which our team was exposed; The match witnessed arbitration cases that were clear to everyone, yet we did not see the required legal reaction from the arbitration team, which led to the match ending with a result that did not reflect the course of the game.”

Al-Kaabi added: “We appreciate the efforts of the referees committee and its development of the system, but we cannot remain silent in the face of repeated errors that have a direct impact on the results of the matches, especially since we are going through a crucial stage of the season that cannot tolerate losing points due to lapses in judgement, which puts the clubs under additional pressure.”

The Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors called for a careful review of the cases that took place in the match (which included calling for a penalty kick that was not awarded), to ensure the principle of equal opportunities and justice among all competitors, stressing that the club’s goal is to preserve its rights and contribute to improving the arbitration system in a way that serves Emirati football.

It is noteworthy that the draw kept the two teams in a state of equal standing with 44 points each in third and fourth places, which ignited the fuse of competition in the final meters of the competition. The meeting was moderated by an arbitration team led by international Sultan Muhammad Saleh, and with the assistance of Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Masoud Hassan, and Abdullah Jassim Al Hosani.
