Guardiola is a candidate to coach the UAE national team

Spanish press reports revealed a resounding surprise about the future of Spaniard Pep Guardiola, the former coach of Manchester City, after announcing his departure from the English club following a historic career that spanned ten years, during which he achieved remarkable successes and clear dominance in English and European football.

According to what was reported by the Spanish newspaper “Sport”, Guardiola’s name has entered the circle of interest among several prominent football federations, including the UAE Football Association, which is studying the possibility of contracting with the Spanish coach to lead the national team project during the next stage, in light of the quest to develop the level of UAE football and raise its competitiveness on the international scene.

The same reports indicated that Guardiola is also receiving interest from a number of federations and clubs around the world, as his name has been linked to teams in the Arab region, in addition to interest from other federations, as well as follow-up from major European clubs looking to start a new project under the leadership of a coach with long experience in major tournaments.

The newspaper confirmed that the UAE Football Association is among the most prominent bodies moving in this direction, as it is studying the option of contracting with it to lead the national team project in the next stage, as part of a plan aimed at raising the level of competition and developing performance at the Asian and international levels.
