Saif bin Zayed meets the Baniyas jiu-jitsu and volleyball teams

Lieutenant General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, President of the Baniyas Sports and Cultural Club, met with the Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu and Volleyball teams, in the presence of the technical and administrative staff and a number of members of the Board of Directors of the Baniyas Sports and Cultural Club, following the great achievements achieved by the team during the sports season (2025-2026).

His Highness congratulated the male and female players and the technical and administrative staff for the efforts made and the distinguished achievements achieved, praising the honorable levels provided by the club’s sons and daughters that reflect the development of Emirati sports, calling for continued work and training and raising performance levels to achieve more successes and championships, and to raise the name of the UAE in various sporting forums.

The Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu team achieved distinguished achievements during the season, most notably winning the “Mother of the Nation” Jiu-Jitsu Championship Cup (2026) and achieving first place in all categories, in addition to winning the Khalid bin Mohammed Jiu-Jitsu Championship in all categories for men and women, in addition to being crowned with the Vice President of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Cup for the men’s category.

The Jiu-Jitsu team at Baniyas Club includes (240) male and female players in various age groups, as the club continues to invest in developing sports talent and qualifying them according to the highest technical and training standards.

The season also witnessed the Baniyas Club volleyball team achieving the UAE Super Cup, as part of a series of achievements achieved by the club’s sports company.

Within four years, the Baniyas Club Sports Company achieved an unprecedented achievement in the history of team sports at the club, after it succeeded in achieving (32) various championships, including (8) volleyball championships and (24) jiu-jitsu championships for men and women.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Baniyas Sports and Cultural Club, Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Brigadier General Nasser Khadem Al Kaabi, the Chairman of the Club’s Sports Company, Salem Nayef Al Kathiri, members of the Board of Directors, company heads, and a number of club officials.

The management of the Baniyas Sports and Cultural Club appreciated the great support and continuous follow-up from Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the club, Emirati sports and athletes in general, stressing that this support constitutes a great motivation to continue achieving achievements and raising the name of the Baniyas Club in various tournaments and sporting events.
