"Supreme Council for Legislation": The unification of the armed forces is a milestone in the nation’s history
DUBAI, 6 MAY / WAM / Dr. Ahmed Saeed bin Meshar, Secretary-General of the Supreme Legislation Committee, confirmed that the anniversary of the unification of the armed forces of the United Arab Emirates represents a prominent milestone in the nation’s history, and embodies the vision of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his fellow founding leaders, may God rest their souls, in building a unified force that protects the nation’s borders and preserves the union’s gains.
He said that this step formed a solid foundation for the process of progress and development, and established the foundations of security and stability in the country, noting that the unification of the armed forces contributed to strengthening the position of the UAE military institution as a model of professionalism.
He added that this occasion acquires special symbolism this year, as it coincides with the fiftieth anniversary of the unification of the armed forces, which during their course wrote epics of heroism and valor in defending the homeland.
He noted that the Supreme Committee for Legislation expresses, on this national occasion, its pride in the achievements achieved by the armed forces over five decades, renewing the pledge of loyalty to the wise leadership and belonging to the homeland, standing united behind its military institution, and contributing to protecting its gains and enhancing its development path.
