I reviewed the interactive activities of the Saudi Environment Week 2026, held in Riyadh under the slogan: "Your trail is green"; Richness of environmental, biological and plant diversity; To take visitors to the exhibition on a creative, awareness-raising journey about the comparative advantages enjoyed by all regions of the Kingdom.
Different pillars of environmental awareness
The exhibition witnessed many awareness programs And the various corners, including a corner for displaying creative images taken by photographers’ lenses of the topography of the Kingdom’s regions, and through them reflecting the richness of their biological and plant diversity; Which contributed to providing an experience that combines Visual beauty and environmental awareness, as the corner included pictures of plants formed in various regions of the Kingdom, the most prominent of which are the opium, the harmal, the hanwa, the adena, the damask, and the shagth plant, for which the Asir region is famous.
Biological diversity in the Kingdom
The corner included creative pictures that reflect the biodiversity that abounds in the regions of the Kingdom, including pictures of the Arabian oryx in the Uruq Bani Maarid Reserve in the region. Najran, and the Reem gazelle in the Imam Saud bin Abdulaziz Reserve in the Makkah region, and the Qarna lark bird in the Hail region, and flocks of egrets in the Jazan region, while the lenses captured pictures of the hoopoe, the Arabian woodpecker, the kestrel, and the Qulai bird in the Asir region, the spinneret bird, the flat-toed lizard, the Mediterranean tiger butterfly, and the tropical wasteland spider in the region. Al-Sharqiya, in addition to pictures of the Arabian leopard in Al-Ula Governorate in the Medina region, and the human gazelle in the Farasan Islands in the Jazan region.
The splendor of the landscape
On a creative journey around the regions of the Kingdom, the lenses captured natural views of the diverse terrain and vegetation that the Kingdom enjoys, including, Rawdat Khraim in the Central Region, palm farms in the Al-Ahsa region, the towering Asir Mountains, the Nafud Desert in the Qassim region, and farms for fruits, vegetables, and wheat. And the agricultural terraces in the Asir region, in addition to beautiful shots of the Yellow Lake in the Eastern Province, the wet areas of the Red Sea coast, the mangroves in the Jazan region, and the Almond Mountains in the Tabuk region.
