The Muslim Council of Elders strongly condemns the targeting of the vicinity of the Barakah station

Abu Dhabi, May 19 / WAM / The Muslim Council of Elders condemned, in the strongest terms, the targeting of the vicinity of the Barakah nuclear power plant in the Al Dhafra region with a drone, without recording any casualties, stressing its categorical rejection of such criminal attacks that target vital installations and threaten the security and stability of countries and the safety of civilians.
In a statement issued today, the Council affirmed that such hostile actions represent a flagrant violation of international laws and norms, and a serious threat to the security of civilian facilities, infrastructure, and the energy sector, with possible repercussions affecting regional and international security and peace.
The Muslim Council of Elders renewed its full solidarity with the UAE. leadership, government and people, and its support for all measures it takes to preserve its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents on its land, calling for the necessity of uniting regional and international efforts to confront threats targeting the security of countries and civilian facilities, and to work to consolidate the values of peace and stability and protect the security of peoples and societies.
