3 killed in a shooting at a California mosque, and the two suspects committed suicide

3 people were killed in Mass shooting at a mosque inside an Islamic center in San Diego, California on Monday, according to American police who announced that they later found the bodies of two young men inside a car suspected of carrying out the attack and who died by suicide.
Police said that emergency teams found the victims inside the vast Islamic Center in San Diego, before later finding the bodies of the 19- and 17-year-old perpetrators of the attack.
Aerial footage from a helicopter showed law enforcement forces gathered in front of a building inside the center. The Islamic Center, and next to it was a body drowning in its blood.

Encircling the place and neutralizing the threat

Police cars were deployed around the Islamic Center, which is described on its website as the largest mosque in San Diego County, located in southern California.
Shortly after cordoning off the place and urging the authorities to call on the residents of the area to stay in their homes, the San Diego police announced that the threat at the center had been neutralized.
San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl told reporters: We received a report of the presence of an armed man. The Islamic Center was active, and within 4 minutes officers arrived at the site and immediately found 3 bodies in front of the center.
He added: We immediately began deploying in response to an active shooter in a nearby mosque and school, and the police received calls about other shootings nearby, as a landscaper working there was shot but was not injured.

Finding the perpetrators of the incident

And outside the Islamic Center, the police found a car with a car inside it. The shooters were killed.
Wal said: "It appears that the two suspects at this stage died from wounds resulting from shooting themselves, and no police officers intervened by firing their weapons.
The police reported that one of the security guards at the Islamic Center was among the three dead, while the identity of the other two dead was not immediately clear.

An unprecedented tragedy

The director of the Islamic Center, Imam Taha Hassan, confirmed in a message the safety of all children, staff members and teachers, noting their exit from The building.
He said: We have never witnessed a tragedy like this before, and at this moment all I can say is that we pray and stand in solidarity with all the families in our community here.
He added: It is absolutely shameful to target a place of worship.
