Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid performs Eid al-Adha prayers at Zabeel Grand Mosque in Dubai

DUBAI, 27th May / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, performed the Eid Al-Adha prayer this morning at the Zabeel Grand Mosque in Dubai.

A number of sheikhs, notables and senior officials in Dubai, and a gathering of worshipers from citizens and residents, performed the prayer alongside His Highness.

He led the worshipers and delivered the Eid sermon, His Eminence Sheikh Mohammed Hassan Al-Taher, Chief Mufti of the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai, which revolved around the topic of honesty and sacrifice, where he touched on the values advocated by the Prophet of God, Abraham, peace be upon him, whom the Lord of Glory described in the Almighty’s saying, “Indeed, he was a truthful and a prophet.” Abraham, peace be upon him, was a collector of values and a teacher of them.

His Eminence said that the value of honesty was mentioned in the Holy Qur’an about one hundred and fifty times, highlighting its honor and glorifying its value. Islam gives the highest regard to honesty as the pillar of morals, and the strongest bonds of dealing between people, and its foundation upon which the ties between them are established, in accordance with the words of God Almighty: “O you who have believed, fear God and be with the truthful.”

The Imam and Eid preacher recalled the generosity of the Founding Fathers, whose intentions were true and their resolve united, so the nation’s structure rose on a solid foundation of honesty, and its pillars were consolidated at the hands of our wise leadership, which shouldered the responsibility with all sincerity, love, and credibility, to bring the UAE to the heights of glory, strong and proud, resistant to challenges, striking with a firm hand anyone who dared to try to undermine its elevation, security, and stability.

The Eid sermon highlighted the value of honesty as the finest manifestation of strength and courage. With honesty, nations live dear and societies remain great, because the guardians of the homeland are the honest ones. The truth is expressed on their tongues and loyalty appears in their positions, in addition to the great social impact of honesty. Since honesty includes the loyalty of spouses to each other, and the good upbringing of their children, as well as the sincerity of the teacher in his message, and the mastery of the employee in his work.

The sermon highlighted the connection between the value of honesty and the value of sacrifice, which is evident in these blessed days, following the example of the family of Abraham, peace be upon him, who set the most wonderful examples of sacrifice and effort, as the Prophet of God Abraham reached a great extent in sacrifice, when he offered the most precious thing he possessed when afflicted; When he said to his son Ismail, peace be upon him: “When he reached the end of the battle with him, he said, ‘O my son, I see in a dream that I am slaughtering you, so see what you see.’ So the son had no choice but to accept the command of his Lord with a satisfied soul.” He said, “O my father.” “Do what you are commanded, and you will find me, God willing, among those who are patient.”

His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Hassan Al-Taher stated that those who sacrificed themselves for the sake of the homeland and to confirm the reasons for its glory and invincibility will remain immortal in the memory of the homeland, and that among the greatest sacrifices are those that contribute to elevating the status of the homeland, raising its flag flying in the sky of pride and dignity, and raising generations armed with science and knowledge, and capable of participating in shaping the future and enhancing the prospects for development.

In conclusion, the imam and preacher of the Eid prayed to God Almighty to preserve the UAE, its leadership, its people, and everyone who lives on its land, and to bless it, and all other Muslim countries and the world, with the blessings of security, peace and stability, praying to God Almighty to grant success to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, his deputies, his Crown Prince, and his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed. Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, his Crown Prince and his deputies, and their brothers, Their Highnesses the Sheikhs, members of the Supreme Council of the Federation, rulers of the Emirates, and their crown princes, and to grant them all good health and wellness, and to guide their steps for the good of the country and the people.
