Al-Nasr defeats Shabab Al-Ahly and wins the Vice President’s Basketball Cup
Dubai, May 30 / WAM / Al-Nasr Club was crowned champion of the Cup of His Highness the Vice President of Basketball for the 2025-2026 sports season, after defeating Shabab Al-Ahly with a score of 89-86 in the final match that brought them together today at the Shabab Al-Ahli Club hall in Al-Mamzar.
Al-Nasr raised its tally to 7 titles in the tournament, achieving its second title during the current season after winning the Emirates Cup.
After the match, His Excellency Abdul Latif Nasser Al-Fardan, President of the Emirates Basketball Federation, crowned Al-Nasr team with the championship cup and gold medals, while Shabab Al-Ahly players won silver medals.
Al-Fardan confirmed the success of the tournament at the technical and organizational levels, praising the levels presented by the participating teams throughout the competition.
He said: We congratulate Al-Nasr Club on the occasion of winning the His Highness Vice President’s Cup title, and we also appreciate the distinguished performance presented by Shabab Al-Ahly and the rest of the participating teams, noting that the matches reflected the extent of development witnessed by UAE basketball, which confirms the success of the Federation’s efforts in developing competitions and enhancing competitiveness between clubs.
