المملكة: Urgent – Implementation of the decision to raise the percentage of Saudization in procurement professions begins
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced the start of implementing the decision to raise the Saudization rate to 70% in procurement professions in the private sector, as of May 31, 2026, on establishments that employ (3) or more workers from the professions included in accordance with the definitions and professional titles approved in the Unified Saudi Classification of Occupations, which include 12 professions: (purchasing manager, purchasing representative, contracts manager, warehouse secretary, logistics services manager, warehouse manager, specialist Tenders, procurement specialist, e-commerce specialist, market research specialist, warehouse specialist, and private label supply specialist).
The supervisory teams at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development began following up on the implementation of the decision on the targeted establishments, and ensuring their commitment to the specified percentages and the localization of the targeted professions, to ensure the provision of a productive and stable work environment for national cadres, with an emphasis on applying statutory penalties against violating establishments that did not adhere to the decision’s controls after the expiry of the specified deadline.
It is noteworthy that this decision comes as a continuation of the efforts of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, which aims to raise the rates of nationalization of professions in order to achieve the objectives of the labor market strategy in supporting national competencies and increasing their job opportunities in various sectors, in line with the numbers of job seekers in the relevant specializations, and with the future requirements of the procurement sector.
