"Wrestling Federation" He adopts a plan for next season to expand the scope of his tournaments

Abu Dhabi, June 4, 2017 – The Emirates Wrestling Federation has approved the plan for the new sports season 2026-2027, which includes expanding the scope of tournaments, programs and activities, and providing more diverse opportunities for the participation of male and female players, ensuring the opportunity for various groups to participate and develop, and strengthening the base for practicing the sport of wrestling in the Emirates.

This came during a meeting of the Federation’s Board of Directors, chaired by His Excellency Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, and in the presence of Board members, Sheikh Hamdan bin Saeed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, His Excellency Saleh Al Jaziri, His Excellency Mubarak Al Muhairi, His Excellency Talal Al Hashemi, Abdul Rahim Al Nuaimi, Dr. Ziad Saleh, and Moza Al Ali, at the Federation’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

The Wrestling Federation’s Board of Directors confirmed that the coming period will witness the implementation of many new axes, foremost of which is the development of services and programs provided to beneficiaries of the federation’s system, including clubs, technical staff, male and female players, community members, and educational institutions, through enhancing cooperation with partners and adopting initiatives that contribute to raising the quality of artistic, community, and development programs.

The meeting touched on the Federation’s programs and activities during the summer, which extend over a period of three months, and include a set of activities and programs aimed at continuing training, developing talent, and enhancing the participation of various groups, in addition to supporting the spread of the sport of wrestling and consolidating its presence in society.

His Excellency Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak affirmed the Federation’s commitment to supporting the institutional development process and enhancing the efficiency of technical and administrative performance, in line with the UAE’s trends in developing the sports sector, and building a flexible and innovative sports system capable of preparing a generation of champions and promising talents, and consolidating the Federation’s position as a leading institution in the UAE sports system.

He pointed out the federation’s keenness to adopt the best practices and development programs in training and preparation, to align the federation’s plans with the requirements of modern competition and upcoming sporting benefits, and to ensure the quality of programs and tournaments according to the highest standards, in a way that contributes to preparing players capable of achieving achievements and actively participating in enhancing the presence of the sport of wrestling at the local and international levels.

For his part, Sheikh Hamdan bin Saeed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Secretary-General of the Federation, stressed the Federation’s keenness to develop its technical and administrative system, and adopt flexible and innovative sports models that meet the needs of players and technical personnel, the requirements for developing the sport of wrestling, and enhance the culture of sports excellence, pointing out the importance of aligning programs and initiatives with future trends in the sports sector, and in a way that contributes to preparing a generation of champions and promising talents.

He explained that the Federation aims to provide more diverse and comprehensive programs that ensure opportunities for various groups and enhance the participation of females and males in a stimulating and safe sports environment, pointing out that the summer agenda will constitute an important station for the continuation of sports activity, the discovery of talents, and the expansion of the scope of community participation.

He pointed out that the federation will continue to work with its partners to develop programs and services, and enhance the quality of initiatives and tournaments, in line with the future trends of the sports sector, and supports the federation’s ambitions in building a strong and sustainable base for the sport of wrestling in the UAE.
