المملكة: Destruction of spoiled fish and seizure of prohibited tools during marine inspection tours in Rabigh

Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Rabigh Governorate, in partnership with the leadership of the Border Guard in the governorate, environmental violations committed by citizens and residents who used Prohibited fishing methods, which resulted in their arrest and the confiscation of their tools.
The monitoring teams carried out their joint field tours on marine sites in direct coordination with the centers of Al-Sahfa, Mastura and Al-Kharar, to track down those violating environmental regulations and requirements.
Legal procedures
Field operations resulted in the seizure of “4” fishing nets made of the legally prohibited nylon material, in preparation for completing legal procedures against Those involved.
The concerned authorities confiscated about “40” kilograms of illegally caught fish, which were completely destroyed because they did not comply with the standards of suitability for human consumption.
Protecting fish wealth
The director of the office of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Rabigh Governorate, Engineer Radda bin Abadil Al-Qarzi, confirmed that these control interventions directly aim to protect fish wealth. And reducing unfair practices.
Al-Qarzi explained that neutralizing these random violations represents an essential step to ensuring the sustainability of marine resources, and protecting them from depletion and environmental degradation.

He pointed to the continuation of intensive inspection tours in cooperation with the relevant authorities, calling on fishermen and seafarers to fully adhere to the regulatory instructions and avoid prohibited means to ensure the safety of natural components.
