The authority stressed that all health practitioners are bound by what is stated in the system of practicing health professions and its executive regulations, the health practitioner’s ethics guide, the document on the foundations of health professions ethics, and other professional and ethical guides and documents issued or approved by the authority, referring to the executive regulations of the system. Practicing Health Professions stipulates that the Code of Ethics for Practicing the Health Profession and the guides approved by the Commission are applicable to health profession practitioners, and the Commission’s membership regulations require the working member to abide by the Charter of Health Practitioner Ethics.
The Commission confirms that presenting experiments, claims, or medical and health developments to the public must be governed by scientific foundations and approved professional and regulatory controls, and that their discussion and scientific evaluation take place in appropriate channels, including conferences, scientific seminars, and study and training halls. And specialized professional platforms, in a way that ensures that beneficiaries are not misled or influenced their health decisions or undermine community confidence in the health practitioner and the health professions.
The Authority explained that breach of professional ethics exposes the health practitioner to the prescribed regulatory and disciplinary measures, including what is within the jurisdiction of the Committee to consider violations of working members in accordance with the Authority’s membership regulations, which includes – depending on the nature and seriousness of the violation and the circumstances surrounding it – referral to professional evaluation, or suspension of working membership, or Cancel it.
The authority confirmed that it will take the necessary legal measures regarding any professional practices or behaviors that conflict with the provisions of the rules, regulations, and professional charters, in a way that enhances the safety of health practice, preserves the dignity of the profession, and preserves society’s confidence in health practitioners.
