The draw for the preliminary round of the AFC Women’s Champions League places a team "girls" The Emirati is in the third group

KUALA LUMPUR, 2nd July, 2020 (WAM) – Today, the draw for the preliminary round of the AFC Women’s Champions League 2026-2027 was held at the AFC headquarters in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, and resulted in the UAE girls team being placed in the third group alongside Nasaf of Uzbekistan, Master FC from Laos, and the Royal Thimphu College team from Bhutan.

The draw ceremony witnessed the distribution of 24 teams into 6 groups, with 4 teams in each group, to determine the matches in the preliminary round of the new version of the continental championship.

The first group included the Indian clubs East Bengal, Malaysia’s Sabah, Guam’s Rovers, and Bangladesh’s Rajshahi Stars.

In the second group were Kaya FC-Iloilo of the Philippines, TSL of Hong Kong, Phnom Penh Crown of Cambodia, and FC Elbers of Kyrgyzstan.

As for the third group, it included the “Girls” teams from the Emirates, Nasaf from Uzbekistan, Master FC from Laos, and Royal Thimphu College from Bhutan.

The fourth group included clubs from Thailand’s Asian Scholars College, 4.25 from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Mongolia’s Jaratsatai and Samosir from East Timor.

In the fifth group were the Iranian clubs Bam Khatoun, the Jordanian Al-Ittihad, the Saudi club Al-Nassr, and the Tajik club CSKA Dushanbe.

The sixth group included New Taipei City Hang Yuan from Chinese Taipei, Ayeyawady Women from Myanmar, FC Jurong from Singapore, and No Limits from Lebanon.

The Asian Football Confederation announced that the preliminary round competitions will be held during the period from August 17 to 23, 2026.
