Sharjah Asset Management and Sharjah Cycling Club strengthen their partnership

Sharjah, 2nd July / WAM / Sharjah Asset Management Company – the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah, today signed a memorandum of understanding with the Sharjah Cycling Club with the aim of establishing a strategic framework for cooperation that contributes to supporting and developing cycling sports, promoting sports and community initiatives, and consolidating the position of the Emirate of Sharjah as a leading destination in sports and sustainable development.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Sheikh Saud bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Vice Chairman of Sharjah Asset Management Company, and Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Cycling Club, in the presence of Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Cycling Club, and Salem Al Midfa, CEO of the Corporate Communications Department and Customer Experience Sector at Sharjah Asset Management, along with a number of CEOs, officials and representatives of both sides.
The memorandum aims to unify efforts to launch specific initiatives and programs, support sports events and tournaments, and explore opportunities for cooperation and investment in sports projects in a way that achieves added value for both parties and contributes to spreading the culture of cycling and encouraging community members to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.
Sheikh Saud bin Mohammed Al Qasimi said: “This partnership is an extension of Sharjah Asset Management’s approach to building strategic and qualitative partnerships that support sustainable development goals and reflects the company’s commitment to investing in initiatives with a societal impact, which contributes to enhancing the quality of life and consolidating the position of the Emirate of Sharjah as a leading destination in sports and development.”
He added that the memorandum of understanding represents a new platform for developing cycling sports by supporting specialized tournaments and programs, refining national talent, and expanding the base of practitioners in a way that enhances community participation, stimulates the adoption of healthy lifestyles, and achieves sustainable value for the sports sector.
For his part, Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi said: “This partnership constitutes a qualitative launch for the club at the beginning of its career and represents strategic support to achieve its vision of building a pioneering sports system for cycling. He expressed his pride in Sharjah Asset Management Company joining as a main and official sponsor of the club.”
He stressed that this partnership will open new horizons for launching qualitative initiatives and programmes, hosting and organizing events and tournaments, discovering and nurturing national talents in a way that contributes to spreading the culture of cycling, consolidating the position of the Emirate of Sharjah as a leading regional center for cycling, and achieving a sustainable societal impact.
According to the memorandum of understanding, Sharjah Asset Management Company is approved as the main and official sponsor of the Sharjah Cycling Club, in a step that reflects its commitment to supporting the sports sector and enhancing its role in enabling community and development initiatives based on its institutional responsibility and vision of investing in sectors with a sustainable impact.
The memorandum also stipulates cooperation in supporting and sponsoring tournaments, events, programs and initiatives related to cycling at the local, regional and international levels, in addition to exploring opportunities for cooperation in sports projects that contribute to developing the sports system, enhancing sustainability and achieving added value for both parties.
The memorandum of understanding constitutes a general framework for cooperation between the two sides, provided that the executive, financial and operational aspects of each future project or event are agreed separately to ensure the achievement of the partnership’s objectives and maximize its sporting and societal impact.
