Sports federations in the Emirates / ambitious strategies to enhance international achievements (9)

Abu Dhabi, 4th July / WAM / Sports federations in the UAE continue to implement their development strategies aimed at strengthening their presence on the continental and international arenas, through integrated programs that focus on discovering talent, expanding the base of practitioners, and raising the efficiency of national teams, in line with the objectives of the National Sports Strategy 2031, and enhancing the procession of UAE achievements in various foreign forums.

This report comes within a series of weekly reports published by the Emirates News Agency, WAM, to monitor the plans and strategies of national federations aimed at spreading various sports and achieving more successes at the regional, continental and global levels.

The Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, headed by Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, is keen to implement its development programs to raise the level of the game and enhance its competitiveness, by discovering promising talents, expanding the participation base, and enhancing cooperation with sports clubs and academies to spread the game, in addition to qualifying national competencies through specialized training programs, and organizing sports and community events in clubs and gyms.

Mohammed Al Marri, Secretary-General of the Federation, confirmed that the Federation’s strategy stems from an integrated vision that keeps pace with the rapid growth witnessed by the sport of bodybuilding and fitness, noting that the next stage includes a group of important tournaments that reflect the development of the game and the expansion of its practitioner base.

For its part, the Board of Directors of the Emirates Water Sports Federation is sparing no effort in developing performance in all fields within the 2024-2028 electoral cycle, by strengthening partnerships with sports councils, clubs and academies, and keeping pace with global developments in the game, which contributes to preparing promising generations of champions capable of competing in foreign tournaments while monitoring the numbers of international players and ensuring their development to keep pace with global rates.

The Federation focuses on empowering women and enhancing their participation in sports competitions, by providing a stimulating environment to develop their competitive capabilities, in addition to attracting talent from schools and expanding the base of practitioners in various age groups.

His Excellency Abdullah Al Wahaibi, President of the Federation, confirmed that the Federation is looking forward to building on the gains achieved during the past period, and developing its programs in line with global changes, while working to establish a strong base of swimmers at various age levels, and providing training and qualification opportunities, enabling national teams to compete for advanced results in continental and international championships.

He added that the development of national teams represents a major priority in the Federation’s strategy, with the support of the National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Sports, with the aim of building an integrated system that enhances the paths of developing the game in accordance with the best professional practices, stressing that expanding cooperation with various partners constitutes one of the basic foundations for achieving the Federation’s goals during the next stage.

In the same context, the Emirates Rugby Federation is implementing its vision aimed at building a strong base of male and female players, preparing them technically and physically to compete for advanced positions in foreign competitions, in addition to expanding the base of practitioners and enhancing the spread of the game in the country.

The Federation is working to develop the work system by strengthening its international presence, building effective partnerships that contribute to raising performance levels, discovering talented elements and including them in the national teams, qualifying them according to the best international standards, as well as attracting new clubs to join the game system.

Mohammed Sultan Al Zaabi, Secretary-General of the Federation, stressed the importance of continuing to implement strategic programs that contribute to developing the capabilities of national teams and enhancing the status of the game, noting that the Federation focuses on expanding the base of practitioners, discovering and refining national talent, in addition to providing the best preparation programs, training camps, and external participation for national teams at their various age levels.

He explained that the national teams’ agenda includes a number of important participations, starting with the first round of the Asian Championship for men and women on August 29 and 30 in China, followed by participation in the Asian Games during the period from October 1 to 3 in Japan, then the second round of the Asian Championship on the 17 and 18 of the same month in Sri Lanka.
