6 matches on the first day of the Gulf Academies Football Festival in Ajman

Ajman, July 4 / WAM / The competitions of the ninth edition of the Gulf Academies Football Festival kicked off yesterday (Friday) on the fields of the Quattro Sports Center in Ajman, with wide participation from the Gulf sports academies in a sporting event that reflects the emirate’s position as a leading destination for hosting regional championships, and enhances its efforts in supporting the sports sector and discovering emerging football talents.
The first day witnessed the holding of the opening round matches, where the Argentine Academy continued its strong performances in the U-16 category by defeating the Kuwaiti Sahm Academy (4-1), in a match during which Sheikh Mohammed bin Ammar Al Nuaimi excelled by scoring two goals, to win the award for best player in the match.
At the end of the first day’s matches, the Omani Smart Academy was able to defeat the Iraqi Leo Academy with a score of (2-1), and the player Omar Khalfan won the award for best player in the match.
The Argentine Academy began its journey in the U-14 competitions with a great victory over Bahrain’s Ole Academy (4-1), and the player Hamad Ahmed Dhia won the best player award in the match, and the Saudi Mawhiba Academy defeated the Iraqi Leo Academy (2-1), and the player Meshal Al-Sindi won the best player award in the match.
In the U-12 category, the Argentine Academy tied with the UAE Euro Soccer Academy (2-2), and the player Yassin Qadri from the Euro Soccer Academy won the Best Player award, while in the second match, Al Ain Academy achieved a deserved victory over the Saudi Mawhiba Academy (4-1), and Omar Rami won the Best Player award in the match.
Abdul Aziz Abdullah, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Football Festival, confirmed that the start of the ninth edition was distinguished at the organizational and technical levels, praising the wide participation of the Gulf academies and the technical levels presented by the players, which reflected the extent of the preparations that preceded the tournament.
He added that the organizing committee is keen to provide a professional sports environment that contributes to the development of players’ skills and promotes fair competition between them, in order to achieve the festival’s goals of discovering and refining football talent, and consolidating the bonds of sports cooperation between brothers in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
