Shakhbut bin Nahyan meets with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
ABUJA, 8th July, 2017 (WAM) – His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, met with His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in the capital, Abuja, as part of His Excellency’s official visit to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
His Excellency conveyed to His Excellency the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Office, and their wishes for Nigeria and its friendly people continued stability, progress, and prosperity.
For his part, His Excellency the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria conveyed his greetings to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, “may God protect him”, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him”, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Office, and his wishes to the government and people of the UAE for further development and growth.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the UAE and the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and ways to develop them in line with the great potential that the two countries enjoy, especially in the fields of economy, trade, investment, energy, infrastructure, logistics, technology and innovation.
His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan Al Nahyan stressed the UAE’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with Nigeria, as one of the main partners on the African continent, and to work to explore new opportunities for partnership in vital sectors that serve the interests of the two friendly countries.
The two sides also discussed a number of regional and international issues of common interest, and stressed the importance of continuing coordination and consultation in a way that supports bilateral relations and contributes to enhancing development and stability.
